Gene Roncone has served as Lead Pastor of Highpoint Church since October 2002. Highpoint is a network of Christian ministries and outreaches with different locations throughout the city of Aurora.  The ministry group consists of Highpoint@Southlands, Highpoint@Colfax, Highpoint Food Group, and the weekly Love Aurora Broadcast.  Prior to Highpoint, Gene served for six years as a state executive for his denomination.

Gene was raised in Youngstown, Ohio before moving to northern California as a teen.  He graduated from Bethany University and then studied communications at Western Seminary and organizational development at the University of San Francisco.

Gene has a passion for helping people grow spiritually, organizational collaboration and engaging others in community involvement.  He currently serves his city on several boards and committees focused on community problem solving. 

He was also selected by the Aurora Chamber of Commerce to be part of the 2014-15 class for Leadership Aurora, a year long introduction to the key components of the Aurora community. In March of 2015 also received his city’s 2014 Humanitarian of the Year award and received commendation by the State of Colorado’s House of Representatives for his community involvement.

Gene also leads the Highpoint Podcast Network and hosts several national podcasts. He has authored three books entitled Explore the Call, Prevailing Over Impossibility and A Season for Legacy.

Professionally, Gene enjoys working with others and organizational collaboration.  Personally, he enjoys reading, camping, helping the poor and oppressed and spending time with his wife, Rhonda, and their four adult children.
